The Real Issue Solution

With all the changes happening before our very eyes, it is time for Bible believing Christians to stand firm on sound biblical truth, and communicate that truth to a culture and to those who profess to be spiritual, but are embracing the modern zeitgeist.

What is the modern zeitgeist?  It is what we see going on around us. In culture, there is a new social norm centered around sexual freedom. Look at all the laws that have been passed over the years from the time of Roe v. Wade on to present day.  Then look at the spiritual climate. Did you know. . .

23% of Americans adults are “Nones” (atheists, agnostics or nothing in particular). Our culture is not only becoming less Christian, it is actually becoming “post-Christian.”

—  Why do you believe the Gospel is actually true?

Why should anyone in a highly educated, scientific, and technologically-advanced culture accept Christianity?

  • 43% of Millennials “don’t know, care, or believe God exists.”customer20engagement20image
  • 74% of teens and young adults agree that morality changes over time.
  • 2 out of 5 American Adults are considered “post-Christian”
  • At least 3 out of 4 youth leave the church after high school
  • Half of American skeptics have a college degree

—  Why Has There Been a Rise in Unbelief?

When “Nones” were asked why they rejected Christianity their answers reveal the fact that they simply don’t think Christianity is true. Instead, they often think:

1. Christianity is bigoted, intolerant, and needlessly exclusive.
2. There are no good reasons to believe in God.
3. Science and faith are incompatible because faith is irrational.

“…our research suggests that most of the efforts of Christian ministries fail to reach much beyond the core of ‘Christianized’ America. It’s much easier to work with this already-sympathetic audience than to focus on the so-called ‘nones’. …Christians for whom ‘ministry is about relationships’ may be disappointed when they find that many skeptics are not as enamored of relational bonds as are those who are already a part of church life. …New levels of courage and clarity will be required to connect beyond the Christianized majority.” – BARNA RESEARCH GROUP

—  The State of Modern Theology

Sadly, the church universal is often ill-equipped and just as confused as the surrounding culture.

The percentages below reflect the thinking of American church-goers in general:

  • 68% agree that God accepts the worship of all religions
  • 41% agree that gender is a matter of choice
  • 49% agree that religious belief is a matter of opinion, not objective truth.

Equipping courageous believers with clear Christian thinking to counter the false ideas above is what this ministry is about and wants to help churches and pastors equip their people to be effective

There are laws being legislated to support that new social norm. There is rampant error in many churches that embrace a Progressive Christianity or those in the New Apostolic Reformation, and Word Faith movements. I believe these are part of the delusion that we read about in 2 Thessalonians 2:11.

The TIME IS NOW to get to the Real Issue Solution!

By the Real Issue Solution, I am talking about getting back to the basics of basics of those things that have been taught throughout the historical Christian faith, as taught since the time of the apostles, AND that we know as biblical.  We we need to get back to the biblical disciplines that allow us to live our Christian faith confidently and intelligently with the love of Christ as we live in a postmodern/post-truth culture. We also need to learn how to articulate those beliefs intelligently in a sincere and winsome manner.

There are four biblical disciplines that I would like to present to you.  They are:C12B3092-4C04-4A72-B162-655568448136_1_201_a

  • Evangelism (conversational),
  • Apologetics,
  • Discipleship, and
  • Biblical Disciplines.

As we think on these four key disciplines, I have found that we need to get back to what the historical Christian church has taught about these disciplines and why they need to be inoculated into our spiritual DNA as Christians.

As we live out the Christian walk, we should want to our faith out LOUD, be confident enough to share the truth, be willing and able to defend the truth, and should desire to seek and equip others. That is what it means to live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission that were given to us by Christ.

Evangelism: Evangelism is the sharing of the gospel, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He was buried and He rose on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4). 51082-womanspeakingantonioguillem-1200w-tn

Being a graduate of a strong evangelistic seminary that holds to the traditional methods of sharing, I have found that our culture is becoming more and more unfriendly to those methods. In fact there are very few occasions where a The Four Spiritual Laws, Bridge to Life, or a Got Life Doc will work in communicating the message.  The goal of evangelism involves helping see their need for a Savior in Jesus Christ, and understanding that He alone is the remedy for their separation from God. It is not about “spiritually mugging” someone to get them to “pray a prayer” with the hopes that that person is truly redeemed (by the way with no follow up and discipleship).

The method of our ministry is what is called conversational evangelism.  Conversational evangelism is about conversing with a person about the unchanging gospel and sharing it while showing that we care about the person getting through the roadblocks to faith. We want to teach you how to build that rapport for you to move into a potentially life changing conversation with someone who needs to hear the message of Christ and how He changes people’s’ lives.

Apologetics: This is often misunderstood to be an academic exercise. But what if I told you that it was not the case? What if I told you that apologetics is all throughout the Bible in various applications?

25B6D7BC-37E8-4D21-9268-829F39F05E4A Apologetics is a forgotten discipline that comes alongside evangelism in a pre-evangelistic way helping people have their objections cleared. It strengthens the believer’s faith when doubt surfaces, and helps them live out their faith in a hostile environment.  Apologetics also protects the church from doctrinal error and deception. Why do apologetics?  It is commanded in Scripture.  Reason demands that we know why we believe what we believe.  The culture is crying for answers in its grasping for answers that do not satisfy. And I have seen plenty of results to back this all up.

Apologetics is the new evangelism and the new discipleship for our day and age. With the rise of skepticism in our culture today, we are going to find ourselves needing to give a reason for the hope that we have in us (1 Peter 3:15). In fact, pastors need to rethink about inoculating their church so that is becomes the DNA of the local church. We are able to help you in this as well.

Discipleship: Whether it is one on one or in a group, discussions about the what’s and why’s of the Christian faith are vitally important. It helps us keep before us the relevancy of our faith from day to day. It sharpens and quickens us to that make our Christian faith real in our day, and enables us to live it out loud during difficult times. We have various opportunities that we can share with you that will help and encourage you.3020minutes20to20a20shareable20testimony

Biblical Disciplines: Many Christians today compartmentalize their faith, living it out only within the four walls of the church.  This is going to prove to be a demand of the secular city, but it is not what Scripture teaches.  Prayer, Bible study, and having a devotional life are all lifeboats for our spiritual sustenance and survival. How can we know how to live out our faith if  we do not do these things?  How can we keep from being deceived by the many false theologies and false teachers writing their books that appeal only to experiences, the senses, and feelings. If we really believe that Christianity is true and how can we live without tapping into what God has given us to know Him, fellowship with Him and minister to others?
