Welcome to my Answering Mormonism page. They use our terms but define them differently. The name of Jesus Christ is in the the title of their church. They are the “The Church of Christ” aka The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormons). They are not a biblically Christian church, but have a different Jesus, a different Spirit, and a different gospel (which is really no gospel at all). What gives me the authority to make such claims?
I am often asked that very question by Mormon missionaries. My answer is quite simple. I get my authority to critique the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? I get it from Brigham Young AND the Apostle John:
“Take up the Bible, compare the religion of the Latter-Day Saints with it and see if it will stand the test” Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 16:46, 1873.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God.” ~ The Apostle John, The Gospel of John 1.12-13 (before AD 70)
Though the LDS may use “Christianese,” this cult group boasts many things that do not line up with historical Biblical Christianity. Therefore I have created this page to respond to this false religion and “non-prophet” organization with some of what I and others have written.
Please feel free to look around, browse, and if you have an issue with anything on this page, I welcome your response by email. You can reach me by using either my Contact page or by email at roblundberg315@gmail.com.
