Local Christian schools and high schools are not providing the equipping they need to insulate their students with solid reasons for the truth of the Christian faith. I will sometimes run into a student and ask them if I can survey them with three questions: Why are you a Christian and please do not use your testimony as the answer; why do you believe the Bible is true, and please do not tell that it says it is God’s Word; and is truth absolute or relative?
The answers that I get are nothing less than scary.
Whenever I do a series of posts, look for a post listing the links for the series. You might find it rare that skeptics know the Bible. Sometimes Muslims might bring up the challenges that were addressed in these posts. At any rate it is good to have a good handle on hermeneutics and understanding the harmony of the gospels.
If we look at these passages, we do not see the word, “hell” found anywhere in them. So what is the problem? The problem is that the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 9 states that Jesus “descended into the lower parts of the earth.” However, the Apostle Creed states that after Jesus died, He “descended into hell.”
